In the words of Leslie Knope, from the popular sitcom Parks & Rec, “You are a rainbow-infused space unicorn, a perfect sunflower, the greatest human being ever invented, and the most beautiful, glowing sun-goddess!”

Sometimes, our thoughts limit or stifle our true potential and worth. If your debilitative thoughts are holding you captive right now, know that you are worth exponentially more than what your thoughts are limiting you to.
JOURNAL PROMPT: List 3 limiting beliefs you’ve been told (by parents, media, “friends,” etc) and that you’ve carried as a weight on your heart. Recognize that they are LIES. Then, cross them out as aggressively as you choose. Last, replace those lies with 3 truths about yourself.
For example, if one of your limiting beliefs is something like, “I’m a burden,” this is a LIE. Cross through it. Then, write a truth, such as, “I’m valuable.”
Here’s another example. “I’m needy.” Recognize that it is a LIE. Cross it out. Replace it with, “My needs matter.”
Ready? Grab your journal, take 5-10 minutes to reflect on the journal prompt, and then keep reading.
You can shift your train of thought with self-compassion! Self-compassion is all about being kind to yourself, practicing mindfulness, and remembering that you are a perfect soul having a human experience.
